Internal Wholesaler

Job Description:

The internal wholesaler will join the sales team, headquartered in the Dallas, TX office. The internal wholesaler will work directly with external wholesalers located across the U.S. to build, grow, and maintain advisor relationships. The candidate will be someone who excels in relationship-building and has an in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry. This hire will support our external wholesalers as the team actively markets our investment products to financial advisors, RIAs, family offices, national accounts, and retirement plans across the U.S. The candidate will act as an internal point of contact for the external sales team; identifying and researching new opportunities, vetting prospective clients, and nurturing leads to hand over to external wholesalers to close. The successful candidate will streamline our current sales and marketing efforts by utilizing Salesforce and external data sources to leverage insights and generate leads. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to use different media and tools to connect with prospective clients and will show determination and initiative to get around obstacles and meet their targets.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partner with external wholesalers to develop, maintain, and expand relationships to drive sales.
  • Develop new business through research and high-quality, proactive interactions with Financial Advisors.
  • Develop a strategy for targeting prospective clients for each of the funds/ products that the Firm distributes through its sales channels.
  • Have an impactful, repeatable pitch prepared for the Firm and each product.
  • Utilize Salesforce to document all activities and assign leads to external wholesalers.
  • Utilize databases such as Prequin, Discovery, and Dakota to generate leads for the external wholesaling team.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations to both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to create a daily plan and execute it accordingly, recording results and demonstrating a methodical approach to sales coverage.
  • Responsible for scheduling follow-up meetings for external wholesalers and meeting weekly targets.
  • Consistently following up with leads and prospects to advance the sales process and deepen advisor relationships.
  • Drive attendance to various external wholesaler meetings, conferences, webinars, and Firm events.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of internal or external sales experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • 1+ years’ experience using Salesforce.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Willingness to travel if necessary.
  • Prior experience with fixed income products is advantageous and an understanding of residential mortgage-backed securities would be a plus.
  • Excellent social skills and ability to influence others, collaborate with different areas of the Firm.
  • Experience with utilizing social media to drive sales.
  • Series 6,7, 63 or 65 would be a plus.
  • Relocation to Dallas TX.

Mutual Fund Hybrid Wholesaler / Sales Consultant

Regan Capital is seeking a Hybrid Wholesaler who will be responsible for representing the firm through actively marketing our Total Return Mutual Fund to financial advisors, RIAs, Family Offices, National Accounts, Retirement Plans and obtaining platform access across broker dealers in all distribution channels across the U.S. There will also be an opportunity to sell our other products in our Private Funds and for Separately Managed Accounts. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, helping the firm build its sales and distribution team from ground up. The role includes helping current and potential mutual fund clients by providing technical information on the fund and what it offers, demonstrating a strong knowledge of the competitive landscape, financial markets and industry related topics. Additional responsibilities will entail:

  • Maintaining and developing a sales territory, the distribution team will develop a footprint across all the key states within the U.S over the next 2-3 years.
  • Communicating regularly with RIAs and investment professionals through personal visits and phone/email in order to familiarize them with the firm and the mutual fund.
  • Preparing and delivering product presentations to both internal and external audiences.
  • Working effectively with other departments within the firm to promote the product and assist with the development of future products.

Qualifications and requirements

  • The candidate must be motivated with strong territory management and selling skills, and the ability to drive to his/her objectives relatively autonomously.
  • The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ experience in the investments industry, demonstrating a strong acumen for the industry.
  • The candidate will preferably have a minimum of 3 years of wholesaling experience, with a track record of success.
  • The candidate should have excellent presentation, communication (verbal and written), selling and closing skills.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Prior experience with Fixed Income products is required.
  • Proficient with using Salesforce.
  • Excellent social skills and ability to influence others.
  • Proven ability to easily build and maintain relationships.
  • Prior experience managing sales staff is advantageous.
  • Required licenses: Minimum of Series 7 and Series 63.

Fund Controller

Regan Capital is seeking a candidate who will oversee the accounting and reporting for the recently launched mutual fund. This person will work directly with the firm’s COO and members of the operational and finance team to ensure accuracy across all the fund’s reporting. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of daily P&L reporting experience at an asset manager, hedge fund, investment bank, or brokerage firm.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing all accounting responsibilities within the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles for the mutual fund.
  • Leading internal NAV production and reconciliation with the fund’s administrator and Trustees.
    Treasury management.
  • Analyzing fund performance on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Assisting with the year-end audit process.
  • Assisting with tax matters for the fund.
  • Working closely with the operations team to ensure trade capture, portfolio data, positions and securities are all reconciled.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial information to support investor relations and marketing.
  • Updating and reconciling internal investment and accounting systems to the Funds’ Administrator.
  • Assisting with daily/monthly valuation process.
  • Assisting with fund expense reporting and analysis.

  • Managing data in the firm’s internal P&L systems.
  • Assisting with regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge.
  • Prior experience with various financial products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly analytical.
  • A CPA certification or working towards a CPA certification is a plus.
  • Prior audit experience with Big 4 audit firms is a plus.

Job Duties

Summer Intern

To support Regan Capital’s continued growth and success, we are seeking candidates for a summer internship.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with different sides of the business to further understand the processes and functions of an investment management firm.
  • Assist in the trading process by helping to maintain Regan’s portfolio management system and order management system.
  • Responsible for investigating and clearing any settlement breaks.
  • Complete ad hoc projects as required by the firm’s COO and investment team.
  • Support the investment team with any information necessary to make investment decisions.
  • On hand support to assist the investment team with queries that arise and resolving day to day issues encountered by the firm.
  • Assist operations team with daily responsibilities including reconciliations of cash and open positions with external parties and across internal systems, clearing settlement breaks, and other necessary tasks.
